When Daddy Calls

People rush by.

Emails stack up.

Cars zoom quickly, engines buzzing.

Ever feel like life is speeding past you faster than you can catch your breath?

Sometimes it’s like I’m in that episode of The Flash—you know the one—where he keeps going back in time, trying to fix everything and get it just right.

I’m trying to reclaim years spent building someone else’s dream; time lost procrastinating…

… hoping that if I move faster, I’ll be more productive.

Only I don’t have access to the Speed Force.

But just as my brain sprints into overdrive—

BRRRIINNGGG☎️

The phone rings.

“Hello Padre,” I sheepishly answer, unsure if this is a check-in or a ‘get back on track’ call.

His warm voice cuts through the noise like a familiar melody.

“Hi Kesha, how are you doing today?”

😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

His tone alone lets me know this is just a father & grandfather calling to see how things are going and sharing wisdom mixed with genuine care & concern.

While chatting, I realised the blur of electricity from my dash of activities had slowed to a welcome pause.

‘He loves me!’, I thought as I chuckled to myself, even though I don’t actually utter those words.

Now, even though our conversation was brief, I feel centered, focused and anxiety has lifted. I am present.

It’s funny.

As a younger woman, I couldn’t wait to be “independent” and establish myself.

But now?

Now I realize how precious these heart-centered, grounding moments are.

Moments when I feel seen.

Heard.

Loved.

No striving.

No fixing.

Just space to be.

Sometimes I remember those who adopted my father as a surrogate parent…and other times I wonder about those who never had a father’s voice steady their breath or lift their chin.

And then I remember… we all have access to a heavenly Father.

Imagine what it’s like when He calls.

It’s easy to forget this in a world obsessed with productivity hacks, content creation, and building empires.

God still calls.

Not with booming thunder or a to-do list. But to offer direction, wisdom, divine connection, and the kind of inner peace no calendar block can give.

You’re never too grown.

You’re never too far away to receive, you just need to answer.

So take a breath.

Choose presence over performance.

Your Father is still calling today..

“Hi! how are you doing?”
