dream big

Did you Know Blind people dream?

If you’ve ever wondered how someone without sight experiences their dreams, prepare to be amazed.

According to Medical News journalist Hannah Nichols, people who lose their sight over time still experience visual impressions in their dreams, though less frequently than sighted individuals. Even more fascinating, those born with hearing impairments or physical limitations, like paraplegia, report dreams where they can hear or move freely—abilities they don’t have in their waking lives. The dream world is an entirely different dimension.

But here’s a curveball: Did you know that 90% of dreams are forgotten within 10 minutes of waking up?

Imagine having a vivid, powerful experience only to lose it as the morning light floods your room. This forgetfulness can happen due to poor sleep quality, stress, early distractions, or even medication. Yet, dreams play a vital role in our lives, aiding in learning, building long-term memories, and even enhancing cognitive abilities. REM sleep—the stage when most dreaming occurs—activates parts of our brain responsible for creativity, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.

I’ve experienced firsthand how dreams can inspire and even bring clarity. During pivotal moments in my life, a motivating dream would help me envision the milestones ahead, allowing me to see what was possible.

Dream for future

So, here’s my challenge to you: Why invest in expensive virtual reality gear when you already have a built-in simulator that’s absolutely free? Every night offers an opportunity to either revisit the past or perceive the future, and explore limitless possibilities, as you close your eyes and rest.

Be intentional about your sleep patterns. Set aside the stress, minimize distractions, and create an environment conducive to rest. Dream boldly and vividly.
